Course Description
Are you responsible for assuring the reliability of your product, typically a machine, and its accurate operation? The course will provide you with knowledge about the statistical methods and models dedicated to such problem settings. It is aimed at quality managers, engineers and technicians who need to properly estimate the product life time and reliability.
What Are You Going to Learn?
The course explains the concepts of survivor function, hazard or failure rate, and the handling of censored data. Next to that, the main parametric and non-parametric life cycle models (exponential and Weibull distributions, Kaplan-Meier estimator and Cox model) will be addressed. The focus of the course is on graphical methods, but also on the selection and adaptation of distribution-based models. The methods will be trained using applied exercises on PC.

People who have to analyse censored and uncensored data concerning product life times.
Elementary statistical knowledge is necessary (as provided in “Visualization of Lab Data with Excel”).
