Trainer: Dr. Philippe Solot

He has over 25 years of experience in the application of statistical methods in the process industry. He has coached many training sessions on various topics, including Statistical Quality and Process Control. His wide practical knowledge allows him to make even technical concepts easily understandable by participants.

Dr. Solot holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, both from the EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne).

Course Description

Do you master the use of control charts in standard situations, but wonder how to apply them in complex settings? This course will provide you with the answers needed. If you have basic statistical knowledge (e.g. at the level of "Visualization of Lab Data with Excel" or equivalent know-how) and want to tackle advanced statistical process control challenges, this course is for you.

What Are You Going to Learn?

Control charts often assume normally distributed data, which is not always valid in practice. This course delivers deeper insight into control charts, addressing complex scenarios such as trend analysis and the handling of non-normal and multivariate data, including implementation of the DIN ISO 21747 standard. Participants learn to detect process changes through hands-on PC-based exercises.

Who Should Attend?

  • Everyone who wishes to use control charts in complex situations

Course Fees

  • CHF 795.- per day + 8.1% VAT (incl. course documents and individual participant coaching during the practical exercises) for online courses
  • CHF 865.- per day + 8.1% VAT (incl. course documents, individual participant coaching during the practical exercises, break refreshments and lunch) for classroom courses.

Which Topics Are Covered?

Statistical Process Control: Basics

  • Normal distribution

  • Control charts
