Course Description
Are you a process engineer or production manager interested in eliminating bottlenecks to maximize the performance of your production system? Or in designing new plants optimally? This course will provide you the basic knowledge of material flow simulation, a powerful decision-making method for clearly comparing scenarios through what-if analysis – helping you confidently choose the best option and avoid inappropriate investments. The course is aimed at engineers and managers who wish to take founded decisions regarding the future production environment.
What Are You Going to Learn?
The course explains the fundamental concepts of material flow simulation, focusing on its use in the process industry. You will learn key aspects of simulation modelling, including how to describe a plant, a recipe with its process stages, and production planning. The application of simulation in practice will be illustrated by means of many software demonstrations and PC-based exercises derived from various industrial case studies: you will run simulations, analyse results, and complete a final comprehensive hands-on exercise to apply all concepts learnt in practical scenarios, gaining a thorough understanding of material flow optimization.
In just two days of training, you will be able to simulate processes and material flows using a user-friendly simulation software tailored to the needs of the process industries, such as SIMBAX. This tool was originally developed in a large Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical company and is therefore particularly well adapted to this production environment.
Who Should Attend?
Process engineers who want to benefit from the optimization possibilities that exist at the logistic level (debottlenecking)
Production managers who want to fully use the potential of existing plants by systematically eliminating conflicts between production flows
Managers who want to learn about the various applications of material flow simulation
